If you would like to speed up your process, you can move directly to sharing your loved one’s Medicare records with us. We’ll review their ER visits, hospital stays, and health updates since enrolling in Medicare. This will help us predict if they meet Medicare criteria for covered home health care.

This step only takes 2 minutes.
After that, RubyWell will predict eligibility within 3 business days.

RubyWell FAQs

How long is training and how much does it cost?

In Arizona, becoming a Medicare-certified home health aide requires 59 hours of online training followed by 16 hours of in-person training.

You can take the coursework, offered online, at your convenience. Most family caregivers take about six weeks to finish their coursework. The in-person practical training is provided at the office of the home health agency that hires you. Once you complete this training, you’ll receive your home health aide certificate and can be hired and paid as a certified home health aide.

The cost for the training is $150. RubyWell only charges you what we’re charged by our training partner. If you can’t afford to pay the full $150 up front, we can finance the cost of training for you while you take the classes, for a fee of $10.

Your home health aide certificate will allow you to work as a professional home health aide anywhere in Arizona.

How much can I earn as my loved one’s certified home health aide?

The home health agency that hires you to care for your loved one will pay you the going rate for home health aides in your area. In Arizona, the pay rate currently averages about $17.50 per hour, depending on location, experience, and employer.

Medicare determines the number of home health care hours per week that will be covered based on your loved one’s unique health condition(s) and care needs. The maximum amount of home health care that Medicare covers is 35 hours/week. On average, patients are approved for about 15 hours/week.

Because you’ll be a certified home health aide, you may choose to take additional shifts with other patients if your schedule allows.

How does RubyWell make money?

RubyWell’s customers are our partner home health agencies. They pay us a fee for our technology that helps them hire more home health aides and serve more aging adults who meet criteria for covered home health. We never take a cut of your pay. You take home every penny you earn as a home health aide (after taxes, of course).
